A passage from Medicinal Plants of the American Southwest:
Drink a strong cup of tea (best preparation) if suffering from a stress–oriented headache, especially if neck tension and mental agitation are contributing factors. Try it before bed, particularity if there is an underlying state of inflammation that makes sleep difficult to achieve (not necessarily pain, but restlessness from allergy or an auto–immune situation for instance).
A passage from Medicinal Plants of the Western Mountain States:
Soothing and mildly astringent, the tea made with the dried herb or the juice (diluted in water) is gargled for sore throats and general oral–esophageal irritations/inflammations. It’s not particularly antimicrobial, but for simple tissue irritation, most find it effective. The same preparations, swallowed, are relieving to the inflammatory overtones of diarrhea and mild dysentery, be the origin from allergy or partly spoiled food.
