A passage from Medicinal Plants of the Western Mountain States:

Use Baneberry for the relief of mild to moderate pain, particularly if weak circulation and a sense of bodily chilliness are features. Arthritis–like discomfort throughout the body, often from the onset of a cold or flu, is alleviated as are diffuse muscular pains sometimes described as fibromyalgia. As a mild vascular stimulant, Baneberry’s effect on pain syndromes is especially applicable when a local or systemic deficiency underlies any painful episode.
