A passage from Wild Edible Plants of Arizona:
In Arizona, it is most reliably found throughout the White Mountains. Additional stands are also located in the higher elevations of the Chuska, Pinaleño, and Chiricahua Mountains. Look for the plant in dappled shade from Aspen and conifers.
A passage from Wild Edible Plants of New Mexico:
Ripening mid to late summer, Thimbleberry’s fruit tastes like Raspberry, yet not quite as succulent. They are fine eaten fresh – the drupelets peeled away from the drupe core.
